About Cierra

Hey there, I’m Cierra, the owner of this photography business and passion of mine. I believe my purpose in life is behind the camera—but my story started much differently. In fact, being in the creative industry was at the very bottom of my list. After picking up my camera in 2013, I realized I had no idea who I was or what I wanted to be. I began finding myself through the beauty and simplicity I saw in my lens, and from there it was history. Though my true passion is capturing couples, I consider it a blessing to photograph everyone I get to work with—from soft little hands that have just entered the world, to hands laced with wrinkles that tell a lifetime of beautiful history. I love meeting new friends over coffee, so reach out and let’s schedule a date!

Frequently Asked Questions

+ How far in advance should I book a wedding photographer?

As soon as you can! We book weddings up to 18 months in advance and portrait sessions up to 3 months in advance. A general rule of thumb is to book your photographer as soon as you book your wedding venue. To get a head start, message us once you get engaged so you have time to review details and will be ready to pay the deposit as soon as your venue is booked. If you're really a planner and you (or most likely your spouse) know you're getting engaged soon and want to book us for the wedding immediately, CMC will document your proposal for free!

+ How many hours of wedding day coverage do I need?

We always recommend hiring a photographer for at least 6–10 hours, depending on how you layout your wedding day schedule. We will help you decide which package is best for you!

+ When should I plan for my ceremony to begin?

If you’re doing a first look, plan for your ceremony to be 1 hour before sunset. If you’re not doing a first look, plan for your ceremony to be 2–3 hours before sunset. This allows us to have enough lighting for wedding party, family formals, and pictures of you and your babe!

+ Should I add on a second shooter?

If you want to make the most of your wedding day photos—yes, yes, yes! A second shooter gives you more photos and a larger variety because we can be in two places at the same time and get different angles of everything.

+ Can I buy prints or a printed album of our session?

Absolutely! We can design an album around your favorite photos for you to approve before we order. You can also order prints anytime directly through your gallery—it is connected to our favorite professional printing company.

+ What time do portrait sessions begin?

We will shoot portrait sessions the hour after sunrise or before sunset. If you get a package that includes more than one hour, we will begin at however many hours until sunset. For example, an hour long session will from 5:30–6:30am if the sun rises at 5:15, or 6:30–7:30pm if the sun sets at 7:45.

+ What Should I wear for our photoshoot?

There are a few general guidelines we like to suggest, but we always say wear whatever fits your personality no matter what! Download our free outfit guide for tips, recommended color palettes, outfit choices, and more.
