Kody & Lauren | COVID Wedding Series 2

Last week, I launched the COVID Wedding Series in substitute of my Wedding Wednesday Blog Series I was starting at the beginning of this wedding season. I had scheduled a wedding per week to be posted in a blog on every Wednesday for 16 weeks. However, since COVID affected majority of my weddings this season, I have been forced to switch it up.

In honor of the couples who’s wedding blog should have been shared, I am posting their engagement photos and asking them to write a lil something about themselves to include.

Kody & Lauren were supposed to get married April 4, 2020 at Magnolia Bay in Dothan, AL. They were one of my first weddings to postpone since Alabama went into quarantine before Florida.

Here is what Lauren said about her & Kody’s story-

Kody & I been have together for almost 4 years We met while we were in college at Troy University. We both knew we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together... we just didn’t know when Kody was going to pop the question. We also knew we were up for a challenging year in the future as Kody was going to have to deploy the year of 2019.

On January 5, 2019 Kody proposed to me on my families land in Bonifay, Florida. With just 4 weeks before Kody had to leave for deployment, I was desperate to find someone to do our engagement photos before he left. I reached out to Cierra and told her our situation and she was so extremely understanding and accommodating with us and understood the urgency to get the engagement photos done. Cierra made sure we were able to view our engagement photos together before he left, which we were extremely grateful for and another reason why we wanted her to be apart of our wedding day.

Kody left for his deployment on February 10, 2019. Little did we know 2019 would be such a long and challenging year. Even though Cierra was just our photographer she would reach out to me letting me know she was there which meant the world. Kody finally arrived home on January 10, 2020 and surprised me with his arrival. We had so many exciting things planned for the year 2020, our wedding especially. Until all of our plans came to a heartbreaking stop due to the Covid-19. On March 19, 2020 we had to make a decision to postpone or have our dream wedding with only 10 people... which we just couldn’t do. We were extremely grateful for our wedding planner and the owner of the venue being so understanding so, we were able to get a new date for August 29, 2020. Even though we had to postpone it was for the best. We wanted all of our loved ones there to celebrate our day with us without putting anyone’s health at risk. This was definitely a blessing in disguise, we have been able to relax and just enjoy being engaged just a little longer.

Our new wedding date is August 29, 2020.

I will actually be on my honeymoon on their new wedding say so my wonderful second shooter, friend and coworker, Mary, will be an associate photographer that day. I cannot imagine anyone more qualified to step in my place and I know she is going to do incredible. I am super grateful for Lauren & Kody for being so understanding, easy going and care free through this entire process.
